A Review, Perhaps

I recently read Peter Salmon's book An Event Perhaps: A Biography of Jacques Derrida and I found it utterly superb, a lucid, well-written, witty and moving distillation of a critically important but undeniably difficult thinker, a thinker I've been grappling with intermittently since the '80s. I might write a more extended review of it here at Curren(t) Thinking, if the spirit moves me. But even I don't, I can heartily recommend it if you're interested in Derrida and his influential and fascinating body of work, especially if you have only a glancing acquaintance with it and are looking for a clear, relatively concise introduction that doesn't simplify things excessively but does make it accessible enough to whet your interest for more.
